Dr. Clary specializes in outpatient psychiatric care of children, adolescents, and adults. Her professional philosophy is to provide compassionate and comprehensive psychiatric care. She works in collaboration with her clients to provide an accurate diagnostic assessment followed by comprehensive care. This may include medication management, individual therapy or a combination of both depending on the condition that is being treated. She feels that psychotherapy is often an essential element of comprehensive psychiatric care and believes in working closely with involved therapists, the family, and other member’s of one’s support network. She treats a wide range of psychiatric illnesses in children, adolescents and adults of all ages including Mood Disorders such as Depression and Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and ADHD. She has a special interest in anxiety disorders in young children as well as persistent mental illness in the adolescent and young adult population.
Dr. Clary has completed training in Adult Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of South Carolina/Palmetto Health Alliance. She completed her training in 2012. She is board certified in both Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has also spent time working with the severe and persistently mentally ill young adult population with the Department of Mental Health. In addition to private practice work Dr. Clary currently enjoys working with the Mental Illness Recovery Center caring for the homeless, mentally ill population in Columbia.
